How To Be A Succesful Remote Developer
Prioritize your work.Ā By using the 1-3-5 method you can set yourself for success daily. Whatās the 1-3-5 method? Every morning write down one large project/task to kick the day off with,Ā three medium-sized tasks,Ā and five small tasks that are small wins.
Communicate, communicate, and communicate.Ā Whether itās through your team meetings, standups, emails, or DMs provide clarity and additional context whenever you begin a new thread with a co-worker. Overcommunicate and ask questions to make sure youāre covering all of your bases.
Be a self-starter.Ā Donāt wait to be told what to do next. Start the project, add to documentation, or squash that tech debt if itās blocking a big release.
Maintain a work-life balance. Enforce a strict start time and end time to your workday and separate your work and living space to draw clear boundaries when itās time to hop off your work computer and spend time on a project or with family or friends.
